5k race
ran 11 (1.75 miles) min warm up. ran as fast as i could. never let up the entire 3.1! serious up hill most of the 1st mile. then more gradual hills between 1.8 and 2.5. Glad the last 3 minutes was all down hill! Time: 20:21 which was a new course record! Ran in honor of my high school coach. ran 1.75 miles cool-down. ‘ran’ into an old friend at the race and was so glad to ‘catch’ up with each other!

500m repeats
We ran to the corner of Elm/North Streets. It was drizzling rain the entire workout. I had myself and the girls on the track team run 7 repeats down to the end of the street (aprox. 550 m) at their current 1 Mile race pace. They walked half-way back to the start and then repeated. then ran the mile home for cool down. Counting the time with warm-up inside the school gym and plyometrics we totaled 4.0 miles. (But I did not want to tell the girls who haven’t ran all winter that) I was glad to be able to do the workout WITH them and was glad to see the girls all look like we are getting a good start to the 2009 track season.

i phone app
i have been using an iphone app that i downloaded from a different site for free only since jan ‘09. i love it because if i use the app on runs i can send it right to the site and to my on-line log. I am hoping that sweat365 and/or brooksrunhappy will soon have the same or similar app available someday soon. until then i will continue to log my workouts using the current app. (before the app i was not keeping track of my miles anymore and enjoying that freedom. But using the internet and the website is one way for me to return to logging my miles. it makes it easy, fun and functional; allowing me to track my gear usage and converting to charts with a touch of the mouse.) does anyone else know what I am referring to and use a similar device?

iphone app
I have been loving the gps app on my i use i downloaded for free. most runs i am able to send right to the site when i use it for a run. i hope that sweat365 gets an app like it for use with the iphone so i can communicate with the group of runners more easily (brooks i.d. group for starters)…
I’ll keep my fingers crossed until then i will keep using the other site that is working so well for me through my iphone.
